FAQs:
Answers to your Frequenly Asked Questions

The starting of a new dance season and/or a new studio for some of you leaves you with a lot of questions so please feel free to email either Toni Rockow, Dance Coordinator / Instructor, or Cassie Barnard, Program Assistant.  Here may be answers to some of your questions:

Ballet Classes:

In an effort to make it easier for our dancers to maximize their time between dance practice and school work for the 2010 – 2011 dance season, the ballet schedule is offering a total of 5 ballet classes during the week (2 upper level and 3 lower level).  The dancer will have a choice of day and time each week. We ask the dancer attends one class per week (hoping one class time will fit into their schedule).  If the dancer is taking ballet at another facility, please email Miss Toni.  NOTE: Ballet classes do not go to competitions so are not included when calculating the competition entry fee.  More details to follow.

Updated 8-24-10: We are pleased to announce our newest dance instructor: Allison who will solely be teaching our ballet classes!  Ballet I and II are geared towards the mini, junior, and teen dancers; Ballet III and IV are geared towards the senior dancers.  Please attend a class time that is convenient.  Allison may, after a couple of weeks, place a dancer in a different level if she sees fit.  She will also recommend dancers for pointe classes.  Click here for ballet class schedule A leotard isn’t required at this time; hair must be tied back, lyrical / jazz shoes worn, and tight clothing to see body lines.

Hip Hop:

Junior 1, Junior 2, and Senior hip hop dances are all considered production numbers.  Classes will run on a rotating Saturday schedule that will be announced at a later date. Price is $100.00 for costume and choreography.  The only other cost associated with these classes will be competition fees.  See the below Intensives FAQ for more information regarding dance practices.

Updated 8-24-10:  Kendra Hill (dance choreographer from Milwauke) is due to have a baby in this fall.  We might have a hip hop dance practice in November. May not perform hip hop at our first competition. More details to follow.

Intensives:

Intensive classes are new this dance season.  The purpose of intensives week is to get a jump start on choreography and apply to all production numbers (tap, jazz, and multi-medium), to all solos, duet, and trios numbers, to all Elite teams, and possibly to hip hop dances.  Intensive classes will start the week of July 26.    Hip hop dancers will be contacted via email if expected to be in attendance.  More details will follow.

New information updated 07-13-10:
