No student will be allowed to take class or perform with another private studio’s competitive dance team if they accept a position with Fox Cities Dance Academy. This presents a conflict of interest and also goes against the rules and regulations of some of the competitions that we attend. (Please note that this does exclude school pom/dance/cheer teams)
REMEMBER
Most acquisition of skills requires a great deal of time, patience and effort. Stick with it and reap the rewards. Come to practice mentally and physically prepared to work and you will achieve to the best of your ability, while enjoying a satisfying competitive experience.
TEAM PLACEMENT NOTE: During the first month of classes, if an instructor feels that a student is dancing above or below the level of the group that she was placed in according to her tryouts, then the instructor has the right to move that student(s) into another group that she feels will suite the student better for the year. The team(s) that students are placed on are based on the scores given to them on a particular day, performing certain steps and routines, which does not always give a clear outlook of the student’s overall ability. Some may excel faster, while some may need a little more time to develop. We feel that this procedure will help in the progress of all students and will benefit everyone involved.

By accepting your position with the Fox Cities Dance Academy, we assume that you have read and understand the guidelines and policies in the parent’s handbook and that you will abide by the four core values of the YMCA; caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. As the dancer, we expect that you will use these values during practice, at competitions, and any other time in which you are representing the YMCA Competitive Dance Team(s). As the parent of an FCDA dancer, we expect that you will also use these values with your child, other children, and the staff at the YMCA and that you understand your obligations written in the parent’s handbook and will follow all of the guidelines and policies.
Please contact us if you interested in taking on a volunteer position on any our parent committees for the year. We will also be taking names at our parent kick-off meeeting held at the end of August in the HOTVY dance studio. See the Calendar for exact date and time.
