Parent Meetings - All parents are responsible for information presented at parent meetings. Meetings are informative and beneficial to every parent and only help the communication process.

Email - Email has proven to be the most effective and convenient way to keep everyone informed this past year. Please provide your e-mail address to us if you have not already done so or if your e-mail address has changed and/or you would like to add an additional e-mail address to your contact information.
Bulletin Board / Info Slots - Located inside the dance studio will show competition information, copies of team memos, and other issues regarding FCDA. Please note that the mail slots outside of the dance studio will usually hold Dance Factory information.
Competition Schedule – Schedule will be handed out by early Fall at a parent meeting or at practice to all team members. Our teams will attend 3 - 4 competitions (February - May) and all are mandatory. Competition schedules are always tentative because many competitions change throughout the season. Please check the bulletin board or your e-mail for any changes. Exact competition times are not available from the site until approximately 1 week prior to the competition weekend. Please keep the entire weekend available until you are informed of your dancer’s exact competing times.
Team Information – All team information, memos and schedules will be e-mailed and/or handed out at practice. It then becomes your responsibility to get information when practices are missed. Your instructor is not responsible for information not taken or received.
Dance Team News – These monthly news letters contain information pertaining to the teams. We try to use this news letter as an alternative to multiple memos. Additional memos will be handed out on a need basis only.
Parent Committees – The following committees assist the program in making decisions. These committees are formed on a volunteer basis.
- Fundraising Committee – Help plan and organize fundraisers for conventions, competitions, and nationals.
See the FCDA Fundraising Guidelines for details. - Competition Committee – Helps to organize food/snacks to be available for the teams at competitions
as well as taking care of room blocks at hotels for the group, etc. - Activity Committee – Help to coordinate extra events and get-togethers for the dancers, and increase
morale among the parents. - Team Parent – One parent from each team who is designated to assist the instructors throughout the year,
mostly during competition weeks and weekends, such as making last minute phone calls to teams, etc. - Photo/Video Committee – This committee takes photographs of the teams throughout the year and
makes a team memory video for the end of the year.
